Oooh! Want!

Ok. Going to look very greedy and girly in this post but I cannot help it!!

I have fallen in love with these items. I need to win the lottery to get them all (:

These $98.00 Manolos I saw in a vintage shop in Old Town. And they were my size. Sigh.

This gorgeous dress from Shabby Apple

This set of poppy hair pins from Etsy

or this ring

Because I love what it represents. More people in England wear poppies in remembrance than here in America, but I've seen it. My Poppy used to give me a paper poppy pin (woah that sounds confusing) every year that his VFW would hand out. I want a slightly nicer version of that to wear in November, especially for Veteran's Day.

And basically this whole outfit would work in my book. Thanks pintrest!

I am going to drive to NJ tonight to see my mom since she is visiting there too. I haven't seen her since July, and this is officially the longest we have ever gone without visiting. The four hour drive on my own I am not looking forward to though!

And we found out last night Ryan got extended another month. Sigh. He does not graduate until April 12th instead of March 12th. So that will be 9 months living apart instead of 8. Joy. At least we get to see one another. I leave for the ball in two weeks (and he BETTER pick me up in the airport and not make me drive three hours in a rental car ALONE in an unfamiliar place after flying seven hours since he told me to fly into that particular airport....) and I cannot wait to see him again. Leave spoiled me!

Boots and Nails

Blog loves... I need your help!

These boots/booties are ones I tried on at DSW last year. They were just a tiny bit out of my price range and I regretably left them... mistake. I cannot remember what brand they are or find them anywhere! I am sorry for the terrible cell phone quality picture, but I figured I would give this a shot. I literally left this picture on my phone all year in hopes I could find these again. They were sooooo comfortable and just adorable. Help!

In other news and awful cell phone pictures... I got my fake nails removed. I put the pink and white gels on two months before my wedding. So from March 2010 until October 2011 my nails were sanded and poked and prodded mercilessly. Manicures feel great, getting a fill does not. When someone literally sands down your nail with a little drill thing it is not known for pleasantness. My husband used to say me going to get my nails done was a luxury and I must enjoy it, soooo not the case!

So I went from these...

To these. A light pink manicure on paper thin bendy nails that are quite sore. I cannot wait until they grow back and get stronger. My nails were never terribly strong, but they were better than this.

Then at Carrie's I decided to follow the advice of a style blogger I recently started reading; love maegan and used glitter to accent my ring finger... and I like it! I am excited to try new nail polishes again, the crackle stuff and fun fall colors. I hope it lasts.... I usually mess up manicures pretty badly (my thumb smeared before I got to my car after getting them done!) so fingers crossed!

Pictures

This post will be a random assortment of pictures from my cellphone. I have been meaning to post them all week so I just sort of put them all together and will just write modified versions!

My friend Meghan (who I love for helping me get my job!) and I went out to dinner last week. Usually when we go out for dinner we go to DSW. It's a thing. These shoes were Michael Kors, originally $140 or so on sale for $85. I texted them jokingly to Ryan but he was working so never answered. They were high. I mean hiiiigh. A good friend of mine would have referred to them as "shit kickers". Of course when I get home Ryan asks me where the shoes are... I told him I couldn't afford them! His reply... "So? You could wear those to work, right?"

No.

These I really REALLY want. Size 9.5. My birthday is Sept 8th. :P I was never a fan of the booty style, but I tried these on and LOVE them. So much. Only $49!

I made this peach pie last night. The L is for our last name. But the peaches were so so juicy that the pie was falling apart! I should have used a bit more flour in the mix to bind it, but it was still good. Our chef neighbor Rigoberto came over and had some too and said it was good. We also had a bottle of my Dad's home made plum wine which was excellent, as always.

Now last week was the Family Fling at camp. Ryan said he would go. So I drive home to get him, get literally MORE than half way there and he texts me saying he has to work. Ugh. Thank you Marines. I know not to be pissed, it isn't his fault, but I had to turn around and drive back to camp. In rush hour. On the beltway. Alone. Ughx2. I left camp at 4, got back at 6:30, and went nowhere! Except the gas station. Anyway, sitting on traffic I see that little display of geniusness. A guy with his foot out the window and smoking and driving.

Now before anyone says anything about me taking a picture while driving, I didn't. I was at a dead stop when I took that picture. His lane was actually moving so he WAS driving and doing that. People.

Hope you enjoyed the random conglomeration.
