Ok blogosphere... I am reaching out to you! My husband's battallion is having a Dining In in a few weeks... what is the dress code? Have you ever been to one before? My husband will be in his blues, so I was thinking a knee length cocktail dress, maybe? I don't want to be too casual/too formal, so I thought I would ask and see if any of you had ever attended one before and could help me out!
Thank you!!!
Don't forget about my giveaway, you have about a day left!
I think it just depends on what you're comfortable in. I've been to 2 and have worn floor length formal dresses to both, but shorter dresses seem to be really popular this year & at the last one I attended [in March] there were several in knee length, and a few even shorter.
ReplyDeleteIn the Army wives don't go to Dining In so I have no idea- but I too have seen a lot of knee length & would think that would be ok since the invitation does not say Ball.
ReplyDeleteThe only dining in (or maybe it was a dining out?) I have been to was for the Army. I think a cocktail dress would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI've only been to one, I wore a long skirt & a dressy blouse....cocktail-partyish I guess? I wasn't worried about my appearance until they made a last-minute substitution making my hubby the emcee for the evening...and we had to sit at our own table whereEVERYONE could see us. Self-conscious much? LOL anyway I think a knee-length dress is appropriate, but I would NOT go shorter than knee length!
ReplyDeleteOh fun!! :) I wish the Army did that. If he is in his blues, then it seems pretty formal to me. I think a class cocktail dress would be perfect, or sunday's best?
ReplyDeleteWhat is a dining out? My hubby is Guard so we don't get to do any of that kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteA knee length cocktail dress would be perfect!
ReplyDeletedefinitely cocktail for sure!
