What have I been up to?
Going to NJ to see Kim in a show:

Reading lots of books:

Being addicted to Pintrest and other random online finds:

Watching Season 7 of The Office on Netflix Instant:

Work:

Swimming twice a week with Carrie:

And hosting give aways no one seems to want to enter:

Really? One person? Come on readers! Don't you want an awesome poster to hang up of anything you want? Baby pictures? Wedding pictures? Go enter! Please? So I don't feel like every give away I do is a dismal failure?
Bragging rights:
My husband graduated from basic electronics school yesterday. With honors. And the second highest GPA in the class! I am so so proud of him. His next school doesn't start until the first week or so in November so he is coming home this week. Probably on Friday or Saturday once his leave gets approved. I miss him so much and I am honestly convinced time is dragging to get me to the end of this week. To have him HOME for a few weeks will be such an enormous blessing and I really just cannot wait!
Fellow Bloggers:
I have read Wife [Window] of Wounded Marine for a long time. Today I signed on to AOL to check my mail and saw her face on the front page for this Huffington Post article. It moved me to tears more than once, and on her blog today she does clarify some things, but it is definitely something you need to read.

Wordless Wednesday: Alexandria Sesquicentennial
(Not so wordless part: This was awesome, we walked down to the park and the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra was amazing! They played some Big Band, music from ET and Harry Potter (!!) as well as the Overture of 1812 complete with cannons shot by Marines from Quantico, we had a great time! And my pictures weren't too bad, especially coming from my tiny point and shoot digital camera.)

Semi Wordless Wednesday: Re-entlistment Edition
Follow the saga here.
I am SO SO proud of my husband. He is officially in the USMC for the next 5 years (as he is going career anyway he opted for the extra year) and will eventually be off to school. He is doing a lat move to Radio/Communications so we are looking at school (*sadface*) once everything is processed. About six months long. I will be holding down the fort here in Alexandria until we PCS. After having Ryan all to myself for a whole, uninterupted year I got so spoiled. It will be a hard transition being apart (school is in 29Stumps Palms in California) but we can do it!
Here are some pictures of the big day. The ceremony was held on the parade deck, you can see the Commadant of the Marine Corps house in the background, and I got a nice bit of shade to watch in. All of his guys were there, plus the Major did the actual re-enlisting. Big honor! (Especially since is the same Major that three years ago NJP'ed Ryan...then promoted him... then re-enlisted him!) Congratulations Ryan! I am so proud of you. I love you!

"I, Ryan's full name, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Tonight a few friends are coming over for a bbq in the park with some steaks. Should be fun!
