Then yesterday I saw the article about the world ending (again) tomorrow. When Ryan and I talk about it, it usually freaks me out, but this time I just really had to roll my eyes. People giving away their savings, standing on street corners predicting the end of days, shrugging that they will not meet their unborn child who is due May 27th... it is insane! My dad has been sending me funny emails all day. Like this one titled, "You don't have to go to church on Sunday":
And one about an athiest who set up a pet insurance policy. Why? He and his athiest friends will come to believers' houses after the 'rapture' and take care of your dog/cat/parakeet/goldfish until the official end of the world in October. And people are doing it! These people want to make sure their pets left behind are well cared for until the Earth succumbs to fire and flame. Then it doesn't matter since animals don't go to heaven (something I personally cannot believe). What is going to happen on May 22, 2011 when all these people wake up and are still here? Heck, even at 6:01pm on the 21st? Apparently at 6pm a massive earthquake is supposed to start and then spread across the world until the whole Earth is trembling. Even before it is 6pm here they will know that from New Zealand to Asia to Europe nothing happened.
Hopefully no one gets offended by this post, I am just ranting and raving. I am religious, and I do respect other people and their religions, I promise. But this is getting ridiculous. I will leave this post off with this...
"No one knows about that day or hour, nor even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the Father." (Matthew 24:36, NIV).
"But of that day and hour knoweth on man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." (KJV)
"But as for that day and hour no one knows it — not even the angels in heaven — except the Father alone." (NET Bible) Mark 13:32
Enjoy your weekends. Hopefully we will all pass through unscathed... otherwise I shall see you all on the other side. Or Monday. Whatever comes first.
